Updating Automatic Payment Information
Over the last few days, Leal Insurance Services has fielded several phone calls about automatic payments not being applied for insurance premiums. Most likely, the issue is due to our clients receiving an updated credit or debit card from their bank to include a new processing chip as an increased security measure. While this is beneficial for you as you begin shopping in stores that have an updated payment processing terminal, you will want to ensure your accounts are updated with the new card information.
Although the new card you receive in the mail will have the same credit card number, most likely the expiration date and security code on the back have been changed. If this information is not updated with your insurance provider, your payments will not process correctly. You will want to make sure you take a moment to not only update your automatic payment information with your insurance company, but also with any other utility or automatic payment plan you have in place.
